Happy Friday, ladies! I have a new look for you that is sure to turn heads - I'll be the first to admit that I used a lot of different products to create this look, but with a little bit of patience and tons of blending, it is SO worth it! Using my super fancy iPhone camera doesn't do it justice, but just trust me on this one :)
Before I apply any products on my face, I always make sure I have a clean canvas to work with. I use Clinique liquid face soap with my Clarisonic Mia2. Exfoliating will give you a clean, smooth base for your makeup. It's also important to hydrate your skin - I use Clinique Dramatically Different + Moisturizing Lotion.
I was given a sample of Laura Merceir Radiance Primer and I am LOVING it! I apply this all over my face which will help hold my foundation in place all day. Next, I prime my eyes using Urban Decay Anti-Aging primer. Again, this will help keep your eye shadow from creasing throughout the day/night.
As I mentioned earlier, the key to this look is blend, blend, blend. I used Smashbox's Full Exposure pallet for my base and crease colors. Using M3(matte, neutral brown), I created a base for my makeup by applying it all over my eyelid and crease using Sigma medium angled shading brush E70. I then used my finger to apply MAC Crystal Avalanche all over my eyelid, focusing on the inner corners. Going back to the outer corners of my eyes, I used M2(matte, medium brown) from the Smashbox pallet, blending it out with Sigma's tapered blending brush E40. Focusing more on the crease, I used M1(matte, dark brown) with Japonesque brush 232. This brush allows you to apply product exactly where you want. To add some depth, I used MAC Melon pigment and applied it ONLY to the center of my eyelids. You can either mix pigments with water or a primer to create an intense, foiled effect or use it as a powder for a less intense color. Using the same Japonesque brush, I used M7(black) to create the darkest shadow on the outer corner. Tip: between each layer of shadow, use a blending brush to avoid getting any harsh lines.
My go-to eyeliner is Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel eyeliner in the shade Black Ink. This eyeliner is incredible! Once it dries, it stays put until you wash it off. No smudges! I used Sigma's Small Angle brush E65 to create the winged liner look.
Tip: Because these shadows are dark and some may fall on your cheeks, use a face wipe to clean up any extra powder before applying foundation.
